Holland Project announces upcoming shows

Date:

SUBMITTED BY THE HOLLAND PROJECT

Caravels, Octaves, Drag Me Under, Elephant Rifle

January 4th will be one rad night, believe it.  Here’s what we have for you: Las Vegas hardcore rockers Caravels, Denver’s clean-core Octaves, local heavies Drag Me Under, and gross-jerks Elephant Rifle. This show is way packed, but the more the merrier.  Info review: Tuesday, January 11 at the Holland Showspace at Rainshadow, doors 7:00pm, $5.  Be there.

The Babies, White Fence, Marital Impulses, and The Shames

On Friday, January 7th get ready to bathe in surf and reverb because The Babies and White Fence are coming to the Holland Showspace at Rainshadow. Joining will be local 50’s pop worshipers Marital Impulses and the pop-surfy jams of The Shames. White Fence tinges on the minimalist side of garage pop music and features members of The Fall. The Babies are everything mentioned above wrapped in a rad package and done right.  And not to drop names, but the Babies share members from both the Vivian Girls and Woods. SOOO be at the Holland Showspace at Rainshadow on January 7. Doors open at 7:30 and bring a fiver.

ON A WIRE Submissions

Modern skylines are crisscrossed with telephone lines and sitting on their wires you’ll usually find birds. On A Wire is an open submission, group show–all you have to do is create a bird (with whatever materials you want, as long as it fits in the palm of your hand). You can work with paper, fiber, paints, pencil, sharpie or clay, and your bird can look spot-on or can be more symbolic or abstract.  It’s up to you!  Since this is an unjuried show, any submissions fitting the format guidelines will be accepted and hung. So step outside, watch some birds take flight and get inspired.

Deadline:  Monday January 10, 2011 by 5pm.

They can be dropped off at Holland Project Headquarters on 30 Cheney St. Reno, NV or mailed to Sarah Lillegard P.O. Box 7084 Reno, NV 89510-7084.
