Governor and first lady host state dinner

CARSON CITY–This evening, Gov. Brian and First Lady Kathleen Sandoval will host state leadership for a dinner at the governor’s mansion to help kick off Sandoval’s tenure as governor.

“I’ve begun a dialogue with the leadership of our state and I believe it’s important to continue those discussions,” Sandoval said.

In addition to Sandoval and the first lady, invited guests at the state dinner are Lt. Governor Brian Krolicki, Secretary of State Ross Miller, State Treasurer Kate Marshal, Attorney General Catherine Cortez-Masto, Assembly Speaker John Oceguera, Senate Majority Leader Steven Horsford, Senate Republican Leader Mike McGinness, Assemblyman Tom Grady, Nevada Supreme Court Chief Justice Douglas, Justice Cherry, Justice Saitta, Justice Gibbons, Justice Hardesty, Justice Pickering, Justice Parraguirre, and former governors Robert Miller, Bob List and Richard Bryan.

Sandoval’s senior staff will also attend.

The menu for the dinner is:

Winter greens salad: Dark winter greens tossed with dried cranberries, candied pecans and pomegranate-raspberry vinaigrette
Wagyu beef short rib: Boneless short rib braised in aromatics with a sauce made from a reduction of the braising liquid (vegetarian option also available)
Cheddar mashed potatoes
Seasonal vegetable: Asparagus
Crème brule: Vanilla bean custard with caramelized sugar crust
