SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE
For the second time in less than a year, Wild Island Family Adventure Park is adding a new attraction to its entertainment offerings giving locals and visitors more ways to play over the holidays and winter months. The Laser Maze Challenge is open at its Coconut Bowl facility.
The Laser Maze Challenge is reminiscent of Hollywood action/mystery movies where the star is trying to beat the clock without getting caught. Unlike Laser Tag where players attempt to score points with hand-held infrared-emitting devices, Wild Island’s new Laser Maze Challenge is a vigorous and mind-bending activity that pits the player against the clock. The player competes against the clock, and others who have posted top times, to navigate the maze without tripping the brilliant green lasers radiating from the walls.
Players can chose from two different themed attractions: the Bank Vault and Space Quadrant 2051, a space odyssey experience. Each features music and black light effects providing a dramatic backdrop for players to navigate the maze.
Laser Maze Challenges are a growing trend at family entertainment centers across the country and with the closest ones in Las Vegas, Monterey and Santa Cruz, it made sense for Wild Island to invest in the new innovation.
“The No. 1 selling point for us is that the attraction is fun and truly appeals to all ages,” said Craig Buster, Coconut Bowl general manager. “What’s great about the Laser Maze is that we’re seeing youngsters, teenagers and young adults go through the maze multiple times testing their agility and mental quickness against one another.”
Buster added, “Since we installed two mazes, it eliminates people having to wait in line for an attraction, and the mazes being indoors, are unaffected by the weather, which in our area, is a bonus!”
Ticket prices for the Laser Maze Challenge are only $3 per play or two plays for $5 The Coconut Bowl opens daily at 10 a.m. Call 775.359.2927 for holiday hours or visit wildisland.com.
