RENO, Nev. — The Reno Vet Center has signed a five-year lease to with Basin Street Properties (www.basin-street.com), a prominent West Coast and Reno real estate investor in commercial and mixed-use properties, to move its offices into Mill @ McCarran project located at 5580 Mill St. in Reno. The Reno Vet Center will occupy 3,541 square-feet in the 129,767-square-foot, five building project that is designed for office and light industrial use.
The Reno Vet Center serves veterans and their families by providing a continuum of quality care that adds value for veterans, families and the northern Nevada community. Care includes professional readjustment counseling, community education, outreach to special populations, brokers services with community agencies, and provides a key access link between the veteran and other services in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
“We continue to see the number of veterans we serve increase and we simply outgrew our old space,” Said Justin Brandenburg, office manager for the Reno Vet Center. “The Mill @ McCarran location offers us a newer first-class facility with more space and very nice scenery. We will be able to facilitate more and larger groups, hold more meet and greets and provide a new and comfortable place for our veterans.”
Basin Street Properties acquired the Mill @ McCarran Center in 2010 from Wells Fargo Bank after serving as the facility’s property managers. Basin Street will have a designated property manager and facilities engineer dedicated to the tenants of the Mill @ McCarran, as they do with all of its assets.
Located at Mill Street and East McCarran, the project was built between 2000 and 2003, and originally owned by Dermody Properties. Basin Street currently owns four other properties in Reno including 300 E. Second St., 50 W. Liberty St., 200 S. Virginia St. and Coliseum Meadows Shopping Center.
