GOVERNOR’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE

CARSON CITY — Governor Jim Gibbons today announced the retirement of Department of Information Technology (DoIT) Director Dan Stockwell.  Stockwell is retiring after 47 years in the IT field, including serving the State of Nevada for the last 14 years.  “I consider Dan Stockwell a consummate professional and a good friend,” Governor Gibbons said, “He can be proud of his service to the citizens of Nevada.”

“I would like to thank all of wonderful public service professionals I have worked with over the years with the State of Nevada,” Stockwell said, “We have truly laid the foundation for a bright future for our state.”

To ensure a smooth transition at DoIT, Governor Gibbons has appointed David Gustafson as acting-Director upon Director Stockwell’s departure.  David Gustafson is presently the Deputy Director at Nevada DoIT.  Gustafson has over 15 years of IT experience and has worked for several Fortune 500 companies, including Microsoft.

Director Dan Stockwell’s last day will be December 10, 2010.
