harryreid1-150x150-8025915-9091979WASHINGTON, D.C.–Sen. Harry Reid released the following statement this morning on the October jobs report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

“Today’s report showing job growth in the private sector is encouraging news to workers in Nevada and across the nation who are fighting every day to support their families. But while we are always pleased to see signs that our economy is turning the corner, we know that we still have much work ahead of us as the unemployment rate across this country and especially in Nevada remains unacceptably high.

“A key way to create jobs is to cut taxes for the middle class and small businesses, and we hope Republicans will join Democrats to do so in the upcoming session. Job creation must remain our number one priority in the weeks and months ahead, and I hope that my colleagues on the other side of the aisle will not be distracted from the priorities of the middle class by cynical political maneuvering, as some of their statements in the past few days have suggested.

“Democrats remain eager to work with Republicans to pass common-sense, job-creating legislation that will ease the pain on America’s middle class.”
