Memorial Award.

The Larry C. Larson Safety Award recognizes a utility’s commitment to make their employees’ health and safety a main priority. Very few utilities are honored due to the stringent criteria of the award. TMWA has 166 employees and provides high-quality drinking water to more than 330,000 residents of the Truckee Meadows.

TMWA employee Chet Malewski was honored by AWWA with the George A. Elliot Memorial Award. The George A. Elliot Memorial award is the California-Nevada Section of AWWA’s highest honor. Named after the man who developed the section in 1920, the award was created in 1949.

Malewski has been with TMWA since its creation in 2001 and has been working in the drinking water industry for the past 15 years. He currently serves in the position of Safety and Security Coordinator for TMWA. The distinction acknowledges Malewski’s commitment to protect public drinking water sources.

Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) is a not-for-profit water utility, overseen by elected officials from Reno, Sparks and Washoe County. TMWA employs a highly skilled team who ensure the treatment, delivery and availability of high-quality drinking water around the clock for more than 330,000 residents of the Truckee Meadows.
