Reno, NV — Trick or Treat in the Streets of the National Automobile Museum, The Harrah Collection, in downtown Reno – and you’ll be assured of treats, not tricks for your goblins, princesses and action heroes on Halloween, Sun., Oct. 31, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Traditional candy and gift collecting on Halloween can be accomplished in climate-controlled comfort during the popular “Trick or Treat in the Streets.” Located on the corner of Lake and Mill streets in downtown Reno, the museum offers free parking in its own parking lot.
“We’ll have a ‘shoppe of oddities’ and games designed specifically for youngsters,” says National Automobile Museum Executive Director Jackie Frady. “This annual event provides us with an opportunity to give back to the community which is always so supportive of the museum.”
Small prizes will be offered as game giveaways so the evening will not be focused entirely on candy.
A special sweet treat of a different kind will be offered to the first 1,000 children who attend the National Automobile Museum’s Trick or Treat in the Streets. Those youngsters will be able to participate in a Book Walk then select a brand new children’s book.
The National Automobile Museum offers parents a chance to enjoy more than 200 cars and four authentic street scenes representing each quarter of the 20th century, with facades, cars and artifacts from each era while their kids collect candy. When children “Trick or Treat in the Streets” at the Museum, nobody has to be shivering in the cold on Halloween.
Ghost Tours on Two Saturdays in October
Ghost Tours are scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. at the National Automobile Museum on Saturday afternoons, Oct. 23rd and Oct. 30th leading up to Halloween.
Ghost tours feature the liveliest “dead people” you’ll ever see. Costumed characters will relate tales of times “back in the day” in each gallery and indoor street scene.
Included in the $10 price of admission for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for children age 6 to 12, Ghost Tours will provide at least an hour of entertainment. Children under the age of 5 are always free. Parking is free in the museum lot.
