bgctmstackedcolor600-300x189-7202903-5072237Recognizing the community’s best in volunteerism and charitable support, tickets and tables are available now for the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows’ 34th Annual Awards Banquet, Thursday, Nov. 18. Honoring local construction professionals Brett Barker and Brett Coleman, cocktails begin at 5 p.m. in the Silver Legacy Resort Casino’s Reno Exposition Hall. Dinner is served at 6 p.m. and includes a program featuring performances from the Club’s various performance arts groups. The Annual Awards Banquet honors those who put forth exceptional effort in helping further the mission of the Club including those members who go above and beyond to set an example for other Club kids.  Ten-person tables are available starting at $1,000 and individual tickets are $100 per person.

In addition to honoring Barker and Coleman for their contribution to the Club and the community, the night also honors those children who make a difference in the lives of friends and peers by living the Club’s main mission each day, leading by example and helping others. One member from each of the Club’s youth and teen centers is set to receive a Member of the Year award, saluting the extra effort each of these kids puts into his or her daily interactions among the Club’s 8,600-plus members. Also, the 2010 Male and Female Youth of the Year awards are given, as well as the Leader in Training Member of the Year Award.

“The Annual Awards Banquet gives us the opportunity to honor those within our community who show continuous support and dedication to the Club,” said Mike Wurm, chief professional officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows. “We look forward to this event each year, as it gives us the chance to truly thank both members of the community and the Club for striving to improve conditions for others year after year.”
