WASHINGTON, D.C.–Sen. Harry Reid today announced that he is appointing Sharon Wurm, the director of financial aid for the Nevada System of Higher Education, to the Advisory Committee on Student Financial Assistance. The committee advises the Secretary of Education and Congress on how to improve affordability and access to higher education for low and moderate income students.
“Sharon has done an outstanding job working with Nevada’s colleges and universities to ensure that Nevada students get the assistance they need to pursue and complete higher education,” said Reid. “I believe she will be a great asset to this committee as they continue to work towards simplifying student aid and opening doors to college for more and more students.”
