Tahoe Trails Conference days away, speakers and sessions announced

Date:

SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

The Tahoe Trails Conference will get underway in less than two weeks (Oct. 1-3, at South Lake Tahoe’s Montbleau Casino Hotel). An impressive array of sessions and speakers will provide the Lake Tahoe mountain bike community with the information and guidance necessary to shape trail access for the next decade or more.

Online registration for the event is open, with local residents enjoying a discounted rate for the three-day conference.

“This is a unique opportunity for riders to have their voices heard on the type of trails they want in the Tahoe region,” says Tom Ward, IMBA’s California Policy Advisor. “The Forest Service is ready to unveil their plans for managing Lake Tahoe over the next 10 to 15 years, so this is a key moment for mountain bikers to prepare our best speaking points for the public commentary period. Decision makers in the Forest Service will be on hand at this event, and it’s IMBA’s goal to prepare both sides to work together in the months ahead.”

The Tahoe Trail Conference is co-hosted by IMBA and the U.S. Forest Service. Conference sponsors include the co-hosts, as well as Clif Bar, FOX Racing Shox, Specialized, Shimano, Flume Trail Bikes and the Tahoe Rim Trail Association.
