Opinion: New Rory Reid ad explores Sandoval’s cozy banking relationships

Date:

SUBMITTED RELEASE FROM RORY 2010

A new television ad further reveals Brian Sandoval’s cozy relationship with the banking industry. The 30-second ad, titled “Banks,” is delivered by Rory Reid himself. It begins airing statewide today.

In the ad, Reid relays the truth about Sandoval’s long-term relationship with banks and other special interests. Sandoval’s law firm – the one that took out a full-page newspaper ad trumpeting its coup in hiring Sandoval shortly after he began campaigning for governor – lobbies for every bank in Nevada.

And it was Sandoval who did the banking industry a favor when he carried a bill deregulating banks. Even Sandoval admits he didn’t write that bill – and he has yet to tell Nevadans why he agreed to be its sole sponsor. The banking industry wrote the bill and Sandoval was the sole sponsor because he’s too weak to stand up for himself – and too weak to stand up for Nevadans.

This is the simple truth: Sandoval has been in bed with banks and special interests for years. They wrote his legislation. They recruited him to run for governor. They gave him a job. And now he’ll be their governor.

Rory Reid is the only candidate for governor to offer solutions for today and a plan for Nevada’s future success – supporting strong schools for a stronger economy. For more information about his campaign or to download his plans, visit Rory2010.com.
