A new Web video from gubernatorial candidate Rory Reid’s campaign explores a series of broken promises made by Brian Sandoval over the past several months.
The ad shows the disparity between Sandoval’s claims of honesty and his pattern of offering no answers to tough questions and no solutions to the tough problems facing Nevada.
Sandoval promised early in the campaign that he would support Arizona’s tough immigration legislation. However, he quickly backtracked, saying it wasn’t right for Nevada.
He promised on primary election night that he would “debate in the open.” But after he was forced to answer only a few questions in public, he again backtracked, taking a debate off the table and believing Nevadans had heard enough about the issues.
And he promises to be tough on crime, saying on his Web site that criminals who“violate the trust of our society should be punished for their actions.” But he agrees with Gov. Jim Gibbons and says he wants to close the Nevada State Prison, possibly creating a threat to public safety.
Sandoval has offered no real plans to create jobs when nearly 15 percent of Nevadans are unemployed. He has no real plan to reform our struggling schools when less than 42 percent of students graduate from high school. And his record shows that when Sandoval does offer a solution or answer a question, he quickly changes his mind.
Rory Reid is the only candidate for governor to offer solutions for today and a plan for Nevada’s future success–supporting strong schools for a stronger economy. For more information about Reid’s campaign or to download his plans, visit Rory2010.com.
