New Social Media Marketing Certificate offered by University of Nevada, Reno for Fall 2010

Reno, Nev., Aug. 16, 2010 — Social media has revolutionized the way we do business – as consumers and as producers. Mastery of social media and inbound marketing tools and strategies is essential to successful business operations in the 21st century. Reaching far beyond traditional marketing media, businesses and organizations today must open lines of communication with potential customers and stakeholders and develop valuable interactive online relationships practically unheard of just 10 years ago using such tools as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, dynamic blogs and more.

Successful companies and institutions – from multinational corporations to small businesses, schools, nonprofit organizations and individual entrepreneurs – know how to use social media and inbound marketing to produce bottom-line results. Developed and taught by industry experts and University of Nevada, Reno College of Business and Reynolds School of Journalism faculty, the new three-course 30-hour Social Media Marketing Certificate offers in-depth, leading-edge course content and an opportunity to develop and demonstrate mastery of social media/inbound marketing.

Developed for anyone tasked with staying in touch with the public, from business owners and managers, nonprofits and marketing professionals to school administrators, teachers and service professionals, the new certificate program gives participants hands-on coaching and the latest methods to learn how social media tools interrelate, as well as the most effective ways to use them to greatest advantage.

Held from Sept. 14-Nov. 18, 2010, on select evenings, 6-9 p.m., four course options are available to build the full three-course Social Media Marketing Certificate; courses may also be taken individually within areas of general interest.
