SLIDESHOWS: Inside Lehman Caves and Great Basin National Park

By Bob Conrad

At the eastern edge of Nevada is one of the state’s unparalleled natural wonders: Great Basin National Park. The park boasts 5,000-year-old bristlecone pines, Wheeler Peak, which stands above 13,000 feet, and the marbled Lehman Caves.

Both are must-see visits away from Nevada’s metropolitan areas.

Below are slideshows from inside Lehman Cave and images from a hiking trail toward Wheeler Peak. Great Basin National Park is 385 miles from Reno and 286 miles from Las Vegas.

These are amazing pictures, Bob. I love all the formations, colors, and extreme beauty found in caves. You captured this well. Probably should have a family trip there. I would like to go as my last spelunking experience was in 1968 outside of Buesta Monte, Mexico.
