CARSON CITY, Nev. — Northern Nevada Development Authority (NNDA) is pleased to announce RiteMade Paper Converters relocation of its Richmond, Calif. manufacturing and distribution center to a new facility in Reno, Nev.  This new 40,000 square foot facility is located in the ProLogis (NYSE: PLD), Golden Valley Industrial Park at 900 North Hills Blvd., Reno. The relocation is expected to begin Aug. 1 with operation beginning in Oct. 1, 2010.  This new facility will ultimately create as many as 20 new jobs for the Sierra Region.

RiteMade Paper, headquartered in Kansas City, Kan., is a converter of small paper rolls for business machines offering plain or printed carbonless, thermal, bond, Security Enhanced and 40 percent Post-Consumer Waste products. The company is a 100 percent employee owned with manufacturing plants and full-line warehouses in Kansas City, Kan.; Richmond, Calif.; and Fredericksburg, Va.

“As with most manufacturing relocations, these projects take time. Our initial process began back in October 2009,” Rob Hooper, NNDA executive director explained.  He continued, “By placing our Team process into action, Nevada won out over Arizona, California, New Mexico and Utah.  Through our unique Team process, Bryan Gardner, corporate real estate advisor at Reno Property Management, worked with the company to locate the perfect facility.  Additionally, David Thompson, CPA with Barnard, Vogler & Co. and member of NNDA’s Feasibility Team, provided detailed analysis and data that proved to be that extra initiative to seal the deal for the Sierra Region.”

Stephen Schwartz, president and CEO, said, “Reno was selected for the new site due to the favorable business environment in Nevada, as well as the excellent availability of high quality commercial real estate. While our current facility has served our company and customers well for over 40 years, economic and business conditions have changed. Having realized tremendous benefits from the move to a new facility in Kansas City, we felt the time was right to upgrade our Western operations.”

Todd Whitaker, vice president of manufacturing, added, “This new plant not only provides more total manufacturing and warehousing space, the layout will greatly improve our operational efficiency. He also noted he expected a smooth and seamless transition to the new location. “The move of our headquarters facility, which was a much larger and more complex project, went exceptionally well. Drawing from that experience, we’re confident this plant can be moved while maintaining the high level of service our customers have come to expect from RiteMade.”
