How can Nevada build a stronger economy if Brian Sandoval gets his way? That’s the question asked of voters in a new ad exploring the consequences of Sandoval’s plans to make further devastating cuts to our struggling education system.
The new ad asks voters to consider serious questions at the heart of this election:
• How much lower can we go, when Nevada schools rank last in the nation and Brian Sandoval cuts education by hundreds of millions more?
• What opportunities will be denied, when Sandoval’s cuts force layoffs of one in five teachers?
• How overcrowded will our classrooms become when Sandoval raids the fund designated for class size reduction?
• How can Nevada build a stronger economy if Brian Sandoval gets his way?
Sandoval does not understand the critical link between education and the economy. Businesses will not come to Nevada if we aren’t educating the workforce they need and we don’t have strong schools for their children.
CNBC recently ranked Nevada 47th in its annual report of America’s Top States for Business, citing our struggling education system (ranked last in the survey) as a critical factor. By cutting millions more from education, Sandoval promises only more of the same.
Rory Reid is the only candidate for governor to offer solutions for today and a plan for Nevada’s future success–supporting strong schools for a stronger economy. For more information about Reid’s campaign or to download his plans, visit Rory2010.com.
