SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE
In advance of President Barack Obama’s visit to Las Vegas this Thursday for a Harry Reid fundraiser, Jerry Stacy, a spokesperson for U.S. Senatorial candidate Sharron Angle, issued the following statement:
“President Obama has repeatedly used vacationing in Las Vegas as his signature example of financial irresponsibility in America. In February, the President urged Americans not to ‘blow a bunch of cash in Vegas,’ and yet it would seem the President has no qualms about people blowing a bunch of cash in Vegas as long as they are blowing that cash on Harry Reid’s failing campaign.”
“Of course, President Obama’s trip does not come as a surprise to anyone who has followed his tight relationship with Harry Reid,” Stacy continued. “After all, it was Harry Reid who rammed Obamacare through the Senate despite the overwhelming objection of the American people, fought for the failed $787 billion stimulus debacle, wrestled for the burdensome cap-and-tax legislation, and supported the President’s costly policies at every turn in Washington. While Harry Reid’s tenure as majority leader in Washington has been good for President Obama’s agenda, it has not been good for Nevada–under Harry Reid’s leadership we’ve seen Nevada’s unemployment rate sky-rocketed from 4.4 percent to 14 percent, earning the Silver State the distinction of being the state with the gloomiest economic landscape in the nation.”
“If it’s true that ‘what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,’ then Nevadans will deny the President’s appeal that they export their hard-earned dollars Nevadan dollars to fund six more years of Harry Reid’s mission to remain at the Ritz Carlton and carry on his job-killing policies in Washington that Nevadans have had to suffer under,” Stacy concluded.
