Date:

SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Summer is around the corner and for young fashion fans that means it’s time for fashion camp at The Summit lifestyle center.  Starting in June, The Summit is offering four weeks of fashion, style, etiquette and accessories to campers ages five to 16. The Summit’s ever-popular annual Fashion Camp offers four differently themed weeks.  Each week, specific days will be dedicated to certain age groups, assuring that all participants will experience a day they won’t forget. Parents are encouraged to enroll their children for a day each week to ensure a new and exciting experience.

The four differently themed weeks will bring a wide array of tips, education and fun for campers.  The themes include:

• Model Behavior – June 21-25: Campers will learn things such as creating a style profile to present at a casting call and proper thank you note writing. They will also have the experience of getting booked for a fashion show and going through a fitting.
• Design Diva – July 12-16: Campers will start their day by creating an inspiration board reflective of their style and personality, and then throughout the day they will create fashion pieces and learn to take pride in their creativity.
• Etiquette Entrepreneur – July 26-31: Campers will learn all the details needed to create a themed party, from invitations to decorations and table settings. They will learn proper etiquette from hosting their own party to attending others.
• Savvy Shopper – August 9-13: Campers will learn to shop style on a budget. They will window shop, keeping track of stores, items they wish to purchase, costs and learn how to effectively use them in their wardrobe.

Every year Isha Casagrande, The Summit’s personal shopper provides her expertise on fashion, style, accessories and more.

“Fashion Camp is of course about style and fashion but it’s also about building confidence, teaching the young participants about things like how to accessorize, party etiquette, style on a budget and more,” said Casagrande. “We teach campers how to take their fashion and expand it beyond their wardrobe. It’s fun for the campers, the parents and for us to watch these fashion fans enjoy all that the camp has to offer.”

Camp days will run from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Children ages five to eight can register for Monday and Tuesday camp dates, ages nine to 12 can register for Wednesday and Thursday camp dates, and ages 13 to 16 can register for Friday camp dates. All camps are one day and include lunch, a $25 gift card to The Summit, a special gift and an official graduation certificate. The total cost of camp is $60.
