BLM NEWS RELEASE
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Carson City District-Sierra Front Field Office, announces the temporary closure of public lands adjacent to and north of Stead Airport in Washoe County, Nevada, due to activities related to the National Championship Air Races. This action is taken in the interest of safety for both spectators and participants for qualifying and competition events during the Air Races on June 16-19 and September 11-19, 2010.
The area of public land will be patrolled by Washoe County Sheriff’s Department and the Reno Police Department to ensure that a safety perimeter within the course area is maintained throughout the duration of the events.
