SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

As construction site safety issues continue to grab national attention, the Nevada Chapter of the Associated General Contractors will recognize its most conscientious companies of the past year while presenting the story of how one safety manager dealt with a workplace accident in his family.

The Nevada Chapter will hold its 13th Annual Golden Hard Hat Awards Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23 in the Paradise Ballroom at the Atlantis Hotel Casino.

Twenty-six companies, including building and engineering general contractors, specialty contractors and suppliers, will be recognized. The event includes the AGC of America Awards which are based on lost time from accidents versus the amount of hours worked in the past year.

Keynote speaker at the luncheon will be Jason Carll, Safety Manager for Basalite Concrete Products in Sparks, NV. His personal experience with an accident gives him a unique perspective on safety and its impact on a family and community.

June is National Safety Month and the AGC will also present its prestigious Golden Hard Hat Award. Last year’s winner was Omboli Interiors, Inc.

New this year will be the AGC Safe Site Award recognizing the best project site safety program.

The luncheon is $30 for members and $40 for future members. For tickets, call 329-6116.
