The Nevada State Parks’ 75-mile challenge is a go. We are challenging park lovers and visitors to travel 75 miles in state parks by human power — bikes, horses, feet, paddled boats, etc. — as part of the State Parks’ 75th anniversary.

The “75 at 75” challenge brought us to Lahontan State Reservoir yesterday with KOLO 8 there to document new equestrian trail head facility at the end 9th Street in Silver Springs.

Terri Russell of KOLO 8 and Michelle McHardy of Petfolio Magazine gave horse trails along the Carson River a workout on Terri’s two horses. John Tyson captured the visit on camera. The segment will run Thursday, May 13 at 5 p.m. In the meantime, here is a slideshow of the trip.

For information on the 75-mile challenge, visit the State Parks website.
