The Aces trailed just 3-1 in the fourth, but the Royals put up seven runs over the next two frames to pull away. The Aces managed to record just six hits on the evening, while committing a season-high four errors. Major League veterans Alex Gordon and Wilson Betemit each drove in four runs for Omaha, which knocked out 20 hits against four Aces pitchers.

Omaha tagged Aces starter Bryan Augenstein (1-5) for 12 hits and five earned runs over 3.2 innings of work. Carlos Rosa and Josh Ellis finished the game with three innings of scoreless relief after Jose Marte allowed three earned runs in 2.1 innings.

Gaby Hernandez (3-2) earned the victory for Omaha, holding the Aces to just one run over six innings of work. Hernandez struck out two and walked three.

Sean Coughlin belted his second home run of the season for Reno, a second-inning solo shot, and Chris Rahl added an RBI-single in the eighth. Ed Rogers recorded the lone multi-hit game for the Aces, going 2-for-3 on the evening.

Reno and Omaha face-off again Wednesday morning, with a special 11:35 a.m. start at Aces Ballpark. Reno RHP Billy Buckner (3-1, 4.25 ERA) will take the hill against O-Royals RHP Robert Ray (2-2, 4.57 ERA). Wednesday’s game is the second of two Education Days this season at Aces Ballpark, where area schoolchildren will be treated to a pre-game chalk talk with Aces players.

Tickets for all Aces games start at just $7, and are available by calling the Reno Aces box office at (775) 334-7000 or by visiting RenoAces.com. The brand-new Freight House District, located just outside Aces Ballpark, is open seven days a week, on both game days and non-game days.
