Sierra Club’s Monday Night Cleanups help preserve local parks

RENO, Nev. — Help efforts to sustain our public parks by joining the Sierra Club for a series of volunteer cleanups every Monday evening from April 12 through the end of October. Cleanups will be held at a variety of regional parks and open space locations and will focus on picking up trash and pulling invasive weeds.

Cleanups begin at 5:30 p.m. and are expected to last about two hours. Be sure to wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, bring a pair of work gloves and water.

What: Sierra Club Monday Night Parks Clean-ups

When: 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Mondays from April 12 through October
first cleanup scheduled for April 12 at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park

April 19: Rancho San Rafael Regional Park north of the McCarran tunnel

April 26: Mayberry Park

May 5: Golden Valley Park

May 10: Horizon Hills open space area

May 17: North Valleys Regional Park

May 24: Horizon Hills open space area

May 31: Memorial Day: no cleanup scheduled

June 7: Sun Valley Regional Park

June 14: Debussy Drive open space area

June 21: Debussy Drive open space area

June 28: Sun Valley Regional Park

Monday Night Volunteer Cleanups are sponsored by the Sierra Club in partnership with Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful and Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space.
