SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

library-logo-2756203-2889836Washoe County Library System is asking patrons for their preferences regarding library hours and days. Due to a staff shortage resulting from frozen vacant positions, the library is faced with the likelihood of having to reduce hours at most branches.

The half-page survey is available at Downtown Reno, North Valleys, Northwest Reno, Sierra View, South Valleys, Spanish Springs and Sparks libraries, as well as online at www.washoecountylibrary.us. It gives patrons the opportunity to indicate which day or days they are most likely to visit the library, which hours they would prefer the library to be open and which weekend day would be more convenient. There is also space for comments and suggestions on library hours.

The survey will continue until May 2. Library administration will use the responses from patrons in developing a recommendation for new hours. The recommendation will be presented to the WCLS Board of Trustees at their May 19 meeting at South Valleys Library.
