SUBMITTED RELEASE BY FRIENDS FOR HARRY REID
Last night, comedian Steven Colbert had perhaps the funniest take yet on Republican U.S. Senate candidate Sue Lowden’s “Chickens for Checkups” proposal to have Americans barter for their health care. And yet this morning, Lowden spent considerable time on Alan Stock’s KXNT radio program defending her bartering comments–even going so far as to suggest Sen. Harry Reid and anyone else who might ridicule her plan are, themselves, out of touch because they simply don’t understand bartering.
The story of Lowden’s bartering comments has appeared hundreds of times on blogs, in print, on local and national news and on late night TV comedy.
