Nevada Chapter of the AGC anounces 2010 officers and board

The Nevada Chapter AGC has named its 2010 officers and board of directors.

The new officers are as follows: Fred Reeder, President (Reno Tahoe Construction); Dave Backman, First Vice President (K.G. Walters Construction Co.); and Matt Frazer, Second Vice President (PAR Electrical Contractors), Scott Hiatt, Treasurer (A& K Earthmovers).

Reeder is President of Reno Tahoe Construction Co. and has been in the construction industry since 1978. Reno Tahoe Construction, formed from TW Construction in 2001, specializes in pubic works projects. Its two most recent jobs have included the Mogul Bypass Project for the Truckee Meadows Water Authority and the Spanish Spring sewer interceptor for the City of Sparks.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be selected President of the Nevada Chapter, AGC,” Reeder said. “With great team effort from AGC committees and staff we will continue on the same path working with both local and State governments, while brining recovery to the construction industry and helping make our community a better place to live.”

Reeder has chaired the AGC’s Public Works Committee for several years and has been a member of the Labor Policy Committee. He has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno. He and wife Robbie have been marred for 25 years and they have one grown daughter.

The Nevada Chapter AGC also named its 2009 Directors: Bill Balsi (Valley Concrete Co., Inc.), Justin Ivory (A-1 Steel), Craig Holt (Sierra Nevada Construction), David Knaub (K7 Construction, Inc.), Eric Scolari (RHP Mechanical Systems), Kevin Weiske (Moody-Weiske Contractors), Sherri Key (Lindell’s Painting), Brien McKenzie (McKenzie Construction, Inc.), Kyle Larkin (Granite Construction), and Lance Semenko (Q & D Construction), Vickie Francovich (Building Solutions), and Johnnie Stolz (Omboli Interiors)

The Nevada Chapter AGC is comprised of Northern Nevada’s top general contractors, specialty contractors and building professionals. The Chapter’s 300-plus members make up a bulk of the area’s construction firms and related businesses. The construction industry accounts for more than 18,000 Washoe County jobs and shows one of the highest average hourly wages at nearly $21, according to the Nevada Department of Employment.

The Nevada Chapter AGC’s success over the years can be directly attributed to working together to build a better community.  AGC members build our hospitals, roads, runways, schools and parks, and also contribute to the quality of life that makes Nevada a great place to live.
