aces-300x233-1520303-1441068The Reno Aces fell behind early and the Aces bats couldn’t come back, as Reno fell 9-4 to Colorado Springs Monday night at Aces Ballpark.

The Sky Sox jumped ahead 4-0 before the Aces recorded an out in the first inning, eventually taking a 6-0 lead after one. Reno clawed back with two runs in the first and one each in the third and sixth innings, cutting the deficit to 6-4 after six before the Sky Sox pulled away. The Aces threatened in the seventh, putting two aboard with two outs, but couldn’t duplicate Sunday’s improbable comeback effort.

Bryan Augenstein (0-3) was tagged with the loss for the Aces, despite settling down to hold the Sky Sox scoreless after the six-run first inning. Clay Zavada and Jose Marte provided sparks out of the bullpen, tossing two perfect frames to finish the game for Reno.

Sky Sox starter Samuel Deduno (2-1) earned the win after completing 5.0 innings and allowing three runs. Three Sky Sox relievers held off Reno over the final four frames to preserve the victory.

Reno and Colorado Springs conclude the series Tuesday afternoon, with RHP Billy Buckner (0-1, 7.02 ERA) to square-off against Sky Sox RHP Tim Redding (0-0, 3.07 ERA). First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m. PT.

Tickets for all Aces games start at just $7, and are available by calling the Reno Aces box office at (775) 334-7000 or by visiting RenoAces.com.
