Friday, March 26, marks the second annual Teen Art Night at the Nevada Museum of Art – an all ages celebration of teens co-hosted by the Museum’s Teen Art Council and the Holland Project. One of the few annual events of its kind in Reno, Teen Art Night is an event planned by and for teens.

This year’s theme for the event is “Hollywood Red Carpet”. Guests are encouraged to attend dressed in their most “bling” prom wear or appear as their favorite celebrity for a chance to win prizes donated by local businesses including The Knitting Factory, Reno Envy and more.

From 7 – 10 pm, the event features live performances by Planets, Watch it Sparkle and others, a silk-screening workshop lead by Ron Rash, and a youth film competition showcase. Guests are invited to enjoy the live music, drinks and refreshments while viewing the award-winning artwork of northern Nevada teens in The Scholastic Art Awards of 2010 exhibition on the first floor. The event will also include an encore screening of the comedy “Nobody”, a tale of a young artist’s search for himself and his discoveries along the way.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased online at www.nevadaart.org/tickets, at the door, or in advance at the Museum.  Student or photo ID is required.

For event information contact Claire Muñoz, School Services and Outreach Manager, at 775.329.3333 ex. 253 or [email protected].
