Sagebrush Chapter of Trout Unlimited hosts free screening of documentary ‘Red Gold’

The Sagebrush Chapter of Trout Unlimited is sponsoring a free screening of the award-winning documentary Red Gold at the Sierra 108 Auditorium at Truckee Meadows Community College, Dandini Campus this evening, March 5 at 6:00 pm.

Red Gold focuses on the commercial and recreational fishing community of Bristol Bay, Alaska, and community’s reaction toward the proposed development of one of the world’s largest open-pit mines in the headwaters of ecologically sensitive Bristol Bay.

The film has won numerous awards including the Audience Choice Award from the Banff Mountain Film Festival, the Culture Award from the San Francisco Ocean Film Festival and the Director’s Choice and Audience Choice Awards from the Telluride Mountain Film Festival.

After the film, a panel of experts, including members of the Sportsman’s Alliance for Alaska, will be answering audience questions.
