WASHINGTON, D.C.—Nevada Senators Harry Reid and John Ensign today announced a $5 million grant from the Department of Transportation to rehabilitate the ramp at Reno-Tahoe International Airport. The funding will create 200 jobs and allow the airport to operate at a higher level for years to come.

“I want to thank the Department of Transportation for this funding that will help maintain the viability of one of our state’s largest airports and create 200 jobs for Nevadans,” said Reid. “It’s critical that we maintain the viability of our airports, especially as the Travel Promotion Act brings more visitors to our great state in the coming months and years.”

“With the Travel Promotion Act recently becoming law, we expect that tourism in our state will be on the upswing,” said Ensign. “We need to ensure that the airports in our state can accommodate the many tourists that will be visiting our beautiful destinations, and this grant will help to ensure that this is the case for the Reno/Tahoe Airport.”
