SUBMITTED RELEASE
Friends,
A week ago today I filed to run for re-election to the Washoe County Commission, District 5. I have had the pleasure of working with the residents of this district for almost 8 years, and I hope you will support me for 4 more years.
I’m often asked what I do as the Commissioner for District 5, and it would take several emails to fully describe the job. Essentially, I listen to your input, and we work together to solve problems. I spend many hours each week attending community meetings and discussing issues with residents. My husband and teenage son joke that I love the people of District 5 more than I love them when I’m often not home to cook dinner because I’m attending an advisory board meeting.
Over the last 8 years, I’ve met countless residents of Washoe County, all with different requests and visions to make our county great. The challenge always is making sure everyone has an equal opportunity to share their ideas and come up with a solution that works for everyone.
This year, Washoe County is facing some of the worst economic conditions in our lifetimes, and we need to be committed to keeping our budget in check and ideas for streamlining government flowing. It is essential to the residents of Washoe County that we continue to be fiscally responsible and to provide needed services.
I need your help. Campaigns are run on hard work and responsible spending. Over the last 8 years I have been committed to keeping our Washoe County budget in check, and that will be more important than ever in the next 4 years. Please let me know if you would be willing to send an email to your friends, join me to knock on doors or even make a small contribution to my campaign so that I can continue to provide responsible fiscal leadership for Washoe County.
Sincerely,
Bonnie Weber
