SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE
New Year’s resolutions often include losing weight, eating better and exercising regularly. As people flock to local gyms and begin depriving themselves of all their favorite foods, Saint Mary’s offers a more effective health management program designed to help you succeed in making 2010 the year you not only get in shape, but stay in shape. Saint Mary’s Jump Start A Healthy Life is a comprehensive health management program that covers nutrition, fitness and stress management issues, all of which have a direct impact on one’s health.
The six-part program provides both information and guidance and is taught by a registered dietitian, a certified fitness professional, a registered nurse and a behaviorist. Each participant receives a computerized risk assessment of family and personal health history along with lifestyle practices, social support factors and blood test results. Participants also receive a fitness level test to determine their fitness capacity.
The six-part series meets weekly, starting Tuesday, Jan. 12 through Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. for 90 minutes and offers participants the opportunity to truly map out and achieve fitness and health goals. Registration is required and is only $25 for HealthFirst and Health Choice members and $100 for members of the community. This comprehensive program is valued at over $600.
