SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Celebrate Fat Tuesday, the Rotary Club of Reno’s major fundraiser, will be Feb. 16, 6-9 p.m. at the Downtown Reno Ballroom. The mardi-gras style event features wine tasting of over 150 wines from all over the world and dining on spectacular dishes from the area’s finest restaurants and casinos. There will also be a silent auction, music, face painting and a “50/50” cash prize raffle.

“One of the primary goals of Rotary is to be of service, both internationally and in our local community,” said Rotary Club of Reno President Bill Creekbaum. “This fundraiser helps us raise funds and have fun at the same time.”

To purchase tickets, call 828-9777 or visit www.renorotaryclub.org.  Tickets are $50 each.  Proceeds will go to the Reno Rotary Foundation to provide community service grants, scholarships and support for other youth and senior programs.

The Rotary Club of Reno has awarded over $1 million since 1994 for grants, scholarships, and international projects.  In the past year, $66,000 was donated to the Kid’s Kottage gymnasium, $20,000 to Safe Embrace, $13,000 in scholarships to local students, and nearly $24,000 in grants to seven international projects.  The Rotary Club of Reno was established in 1916 and is the oldest Rotary club in the State of Nevada.  For more information or membership details, visit the Web site at www.renorotaryclub.org.
