Renown offers H1N1 vaccination

renown_brochure_091006_b-20Renown Health will offer H1N1, seasonal flu and pneumonia vaccinations to the local community at all of the scheduled flu shot events. Four event dates remain for early December. Additional dates are also being considered.

  • Tuesday, Dec. 8: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.  at the Reno Town Mall on So. Virginia & Peckham
  • Wednesday, Dec. 9,  9 a.m. – 1 p.m.at the Reno Town Mall on So. Virginia & Peckham
  • Saturday, Dec. 12, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.at the Reno Town Mall on So. Virginia & Peckham

Until Dec. 11, H1N1 vaccinations will only be offered to participants between the ages of 6 to 24, pregnant women and caregivers of children 6 months or younger. After Dec. 11, individuals aged 25 and over with underlying medical conditions will be eligible to receive H1N1 vaccines. This expands the priority groups to include those over 64 years old with underlying medical conditions.

The cost for a H1N1 shot is $20 or free to Medicare beneficiaries (Part B), members of Senior Care Plus or Hometown Health fully insured HMO and PPO plans.

The cost for a seasonal flu shot is $28 or free to Medicare beneficiaries (Part B), members of Senior Care Plus or Hometown Health fully insured HMO and PPO plans. The cost for a pneumonia shot is $50.

Pediatric flu shots are available by appointment only for children ages 6 months to 10 years old. Call 775-982-4148 to schedule these appointments.
