SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Tickets are still available for a wine tasting fundraiser that will benefit the Northern Nevada Chapter, American Red Cross. The event, hosted by Vintage, A Wine Shop, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 5:30-7 p.m.

Alconde Vineyards and Southern Wine and Spirits have generously donated wines to be tasted at the event. Case sales will be available, just in time to stock up for holiday parties.

All proceeds will be used locally to provide emergency assistance to families who are displaced from their homes due to fires or other disasters. Since July 1, the Northern Nevada Chapter has responded to 27 incidents and provided 130 individuals with shelter, immediate necessities and hope following home fires.

The cost for the tasting, which includes light appetizers, is $35 per person. Space is limited, so pre-purchased tickets are encouraged. Tickets can be purchased at www.nevada.redcross.org, or by calling 856-1000.

Vintage is located in the Lakeridge Shopping Center, 6135 Lakeside Drive #117 in Reno.

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission. For more information, call 775-856-1000 or visit www.nevada.redcross.org.
