Reid announces more than $3.2 million for cutting-edge medical research in Nevada

harryreid1-150x150-3173794-5686196WASHINGTON, D.C.– Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced more than $3.2 million in economic recovery funding for cutting-edge medical research to be conducted at the University of Nevada, Reno, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the Nevada Cancer Institute.

“We all know someone who has been affected by cancer or other illness, and this money will allow Nevada’s brightest minds to continue working toward an end to that suffering while protecting jobs across the state,” Reid said. “I’m pleased that cancer research, HIV prevention, suicide prevention and other important medical research are receiving a much needed shot in the arm.”
