SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE:

Lake Tahoe’s first winter storm rolled through the area last weekend, dropping four to six inches of snow on Heavenly Mountain Resort above 9,000 feet, and three to four inches at Lake level. Winter has definitely made an appearance at South Lake Tahoe, and skiers and snowboarders are preparing for Heavenly’s opening day which is just 47 days away, scheduled for November 20, 2009, weather and conditions permitting.

This first snow of the season signals that winter is right around the corner, with Heavenly slated to start making snow in within a month. Heavenly season passes are on sale now for $369 at www.skiheavenly.com, and the Epic season pass (unlimited, unrestricted skiing or riding at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Heavenly and Arapahoe Basin) is on sale for $599 at www.epicpass.com.

Vail Resorts travel expert Scott Donovan advises skiers and snowboarders to “book early” for the best savings. Guests who book a two-day, two-night early-season (Nov. 29 – Dec. 15, 2009) vacation by October 30, 2009, get the third and fourth nights free. That works out to $49 per person per day for lodging and lift tickets. Some restrictions apply. Visit www.skiheavenly.com or call 1-800-HEAVENLY (432.8365) to get more information or to book your trip.
