GOVERNOR’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE:

CARSON CITY — Governor Jim Gibbons has ordered the flag atop the Capitol in Carson City and the flag in front of the Grant Sawyer Building in Las Vegas to be flown at half-staff on Wednesday October 14, 2009 to honor Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officer Milburn “Millie” Beitel. Officer Beitel was killed when his patrol car crashed. Investigators are still working to determine what caused the accident.
