BLM donates computers to Humboldt County School District

Date:

BLM NEWS RELEASE:

WINNEMUCCA – On September 28, the Winnemucca Bureau of Land Management (BLM) District Office donated 44 computers and two printers to the Humboldt County School District. The computers will be used at Lowry High School to replace old computers for “Help” Assistants in the counselor’s office and for the school lunch program. Some of the computers will replace outdated computers currently in use on media carts, which will increase the efficiency of presentations for the teachers.

All flat panel computer models will be used in the Career Center. “This will save a lot of electricity and keep the room cooler,” says Rick McComb, Network Coordinator for the School District. “The Humboldt County School District appreciates the donation from BLM, which in turn decreases cost and increases energy savings to the District.”
Previously, the BLM has donated 92 computers, four printers, one scanner, ten flat screen monitors, and a large plotter currently being used at the Computer Aided Design (CAD) Center at Lowry High School.
