Biennial, community celebration highlights Quality of Life efforts

Truckee Meadows Tomorrow’s Accentuate the Positive, Oct. 9, is one of the most widely attended award events in the region. Nearly 1,000 individuals gather over lunch to salute the positive aspects of life in the region.

This year marks the 11th anniversary of honoring individuals and organizations with Silver Stars for making a measurable difference in our community’s quality of life. An interactive Avenue of the Stars exhibit will showcase how Silver Stars and other local organizations support a healthy, prosperous region for all of us.

What:  Silver Star award recipients were selected from a pool of more than 100 nominations. One Silver Star will be awarded for each of the 33 Quality of Life Indicators, which can be viewed at www.truckeemeadowstomorrow.org

• Where:  The luncheon will be held at the Peppermill Tuscany Ballroom.
• When: Friday, Oct. 9. Luncheon at noon, Quality of Life Showcase/Avenue of the Stars, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. (except during the luncheon)
