In an effort to raise funds for the Washoe County Library System during this time of unprecedented budget constraints, Friends of Washoe County Library is working together with Barnes & Noble Booksellers by hosting a bookfair at the Barnes & Noble store located at 5555 S. Virginia St. in Reno. The Friends is a non-profit organization working to strengthen public libraries in Washoe County by promoting, advocating and seeking funds for the library.

From Thursday, October 22 through Sunday October 25, Barnes & Noble will contribute a percentage of every sale made with a special bookfair voucher to Friends of Washoe County Library. The voucher is also available online at the Washoe County Library System website, www.washoecountylibrary.us, at all Washoe County Library branches and other area locations.

In addition, Friends of Washoe County Library and Barnes & Noble will hold the following events and programs at the Barnes & Noble store that weekend. On Saturday, October 24 at 11 a.m., there will be a Children’s Halloween Storytime featuring the book Black Cat Creeping, plus a costume contest. And at 1 p.m. on Saturday an autograph party featuring local authors Linda Chambers, Terri Farley, Cheryll Glotfelty and Ellen Hopkins will take place. On Sunday, October 25, Barnes and Noble will hold a Mystery Open Mic Event for adults at 3 p.m.

Please help support the Friends of Washoe County Library by shopping at Barnes & Noble in Reno from Thursday, October 22-Sunday, October 25 with a bookfair voucher.
