University field day entertains more than 500

Date:

field-dayTours, dozens of research presentations, hayrides and countless educational activities dominated today’s field day at the University of Nevada’s Agricultural Experiment Station Main Station Field Laboratory at Mill Street and McCarran Boulevard.

More than 550 registered for the event, which featured a free barbecue by the University’s Wolf Pack Meats, and hundreds appeared to enjoy the diversity of activities, which featured everything from student research presentations to live branding and roping practice for children.

Here are selected images from the event, which is held each year and is free and open to the public.

(NOTE: I helped to start this now annual event in 2006 when I was a University employee.)
