harryreid1-150x150-9901698-7181716WASHINGTON, D.C.—Nevada Sen. Harry Reid today announced more than $3 million in economic recovery funding for the Washoe County Regional Transportation Commission. The funds, made available through a grant from the TIGGER (Transit Investments for Greenhouse Gas and Energy Reduction) discretionary program, will be used to purchase low floor 60-foot hybrid electric diesel articulated buses to replace 35-foot and 40-foot diesel buses currently operating on Route 1.

“I’m so happy to announce this money for the purchase of new buses,” Reid said. “The Washoe County RTC is one of only 43 agencies in the country to receive this type of funding, and the only agency in Nevada.”
