Governor appoints new member to White Pine County Commission

Governor Jim Gibbons has appointed Edward John Bell III of Ely, Nevada to the White Pine County Commission. Residents of White Pine County know him better as “Robin” Bell. Presently, Mr. Bell is a member of the Nevada State Land Use Planning Advisory Council and the White Pine County Water Advisory Committee. He also assists the White Pine County Clerk’s office during elections and helps with projects at the White Pine County Library.

“Robin Bell has clearly shown his desire to serve the citizens of White Pine County,” Governor Gibbons said, “I think White Pine County Commission will benefit from his enthusiasm and commitment.”

“I am honored Governor Gibbons has chosen me to serve on the White Pine County Commission,” Bell said, “I look forward to serving the people here to the best of my ability.”

Mr. Bell also served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1963. He is a member of American Legion Post 3 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3547 in Ely.

Robin Bell will take the seat on the White Pine County Commission that was vacated by Gary Lane. Lane resigned from the Commission to devote more time to his businesses. Bell’s term will expire at the end of 2010.
