Cheney Street Block Party Tomorrow to Celebrate Non-Profits, Merchants

Summer is almost over, but there is still time for one more block party.

WHAT: Cheney Street Block Party (map)

WHEN: Saturday August 15, 2009

11 am to 5 pm

WHERE: 30-32 Cheney St, Mid-Town District between Virginia St & Center St.

WHO: The Hub Coffee Shop, Tour De Nez outreach program, Reno Bike Project, The Holland Project,Bootleg Courier & area merchants

WHY: To celebrate the grand opening of The Hub coffee shop, the merchants of Cheney St, local non-profits The Holland Project, the Tour De Nez Outreach Program, Reno Bike Project and Bootleg Courier present the Cheney St Block Party. It’s complete with shopping from business such as La Bussola, a Holland Project art show, latte making competitions, music, gourmet coffee, beer and a BBQ.

A free bicycle ride is also planned for 10 am. Part of the proceeds will benefit local non-profits, such as the Tour De Nez outreach program which works with kids and youth in the Truckee Meadows to educate and promote bicycle transportation.
