Midtown Community Yoga Opens Its Doors

Date:

mcy-555x370-6808454-1726119Tucked away on Moran Street, between Virginia and Center, is a new, beautifully redesigned and restored yoga studio.

The studio is up and running with weekly classes in two studios. But between June 26th and 28th, Midtown Community Yoga (MCY) will be hosting its Official Grand Opening celebration, offering a full weekend of free yoga opportunities.

MCY was brought into existence by Zak and Ellie Girdis in an effort to invigorate the Reno yoga community and the sense of “community” in general. Their visions is to elevate the local yoga scene by inspiring teachers, practitioners and other local studios alike, in the hopes of helping Reno recognize the value of yoga as a non-competitive physical activity that all can truly benefit from.

Like-minded Reno lovers, Amy O’Brien, Luke Hoffman and Deane Albright have helped to turn this studio into a new venue with a diverse schedule and ample teaching opportunities.

The MCY philosophy focuses on offering incentives for people and businesses who are trying to help the Reno community. Discounted rates are available to employees of the Great Basin Community Great Basin Community Food Co-Op, Washoe County School District and other city and county organizations.
