This is Reno

Over the past weekend, over 1,000 volunteers working on behalf of Barack Obama canvassed neighborhoods in Reno and Sparks.

The volunteers hit my house twice. Once, I didn't make it to the door (they left a flyer), and the second time, I was not home, but my wife talked with them.

How many of you were contacted this weekend?

Did they ask for you by name?

I'm curious what kinds of interactions you had with them and if anything they had to say will influence you to either vote (if you weren't going to) or to switch your vote either toward Obama or toward John McCain.

I spent the early evening on September 23 at Cathexes (major Flash warning) watching the Obama-sponsored technology policy panel discussion. The panel, moderated by Tracy Viselli of Reno and Its Discontents, featured four local tech-savvy people: Tim Casey, Co-Founder and Partner at Silversky Group L.L.C.; David LaPlante, CEO of Twelve Horses; Donica Mensing, Associate Professor at University of Nevada, Reno’s Reynolds School of Journalism; David Bobzien, State Assemblyman from Reno.
