Open Door Cafés will provide and encourage opportunities to relax, have fun, socialize and participate in a welcoming environment where people living with dementia can share their many strengths and foster new friendships.
Open Door Cafés will be held on the third Thursday of every month, beginning Thursday, June 21, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Great Basin Community Food Co-Op, 240 Court Street in Reno. Open Door Cafés are free to the public and refreshments will be provided.
Dementia Friendly America’s mission is to more effectively support and serve those across the U.S. who are living with dementia and their family and friend care partners. The Dementia Friendly Nevada group is supported by the University of Nevada, Reno School of Community Health Sciences, Sanford Center for Aging, and the Alzheimer’s Association.
