SUMMARY:"Landscapes Reminiscent of the Nevada Desert" in Oil Pastel Smudge
DESCRIPTION:Imagine using a “Smudge” to create art?   Who would ever think of a thing?  A“Smudge” to an artist is something you cover up\, hide and even feel ruins a piece of art.  Not to this multi award winning artist/designer\, author\, illustrator\, educator and inventor Carol Foldvary-Anderson.   To Foldvary-Anderson a smudge is everything.  From June 7-July 12 view her works in the technique she calls “Oil Pastel Smudge”.   Carol has received funding though the Nevada State Arts Council\, the National Endowment for the Arts and global opportunities through the Association of Creative Industries.  All imagery is adaptable to the technique\, landscapes\, florals\, abstracts and more.  Find out what is so special about a “Smudge” that has gained her the honor to show her work with the City of Reno’s Arts and Cultural Commission’s East Gallery\, located in the historical McKinley Arts Center.  The closing reception takes place on July 5th and is an ARTOWN event from 5pm-7pm.  Phone the Center for weekday hours. 775-334-6264. The Center is closed on weekends.  On July 5th meet this delightful artist and ask…how does one “Smudge” and even more design and create a technique!  \n
